Magneto-ionics is an emerging field in materials science where voltage used as energy-efficient means to tune magnetic properties, such magnetization, coercive field, or exchange bias, by voltage-driven ion transport. We first discuss the emergence of magneto-ionics last decade, its core aspects, and key avenues research. also highlight recent progress approaches made during past few years. then focus on “structural-ion” approach developed our research group which mobile ions are already present target material potential advantages challenges. Particular emphasis given energetic structural benefits using nitrogen ion, well unique manner ionic motion occurs CoN FeN systems. Extensions into patterned systems textures generate imprinted structures presented. Finally, we comment prospects future directions for practical realizations fields, neuromorphic computing, random-access memory, micro- nano-electromechanical

Magneto-ionic control of interfacial magnetism.
In metal/oxide heterostructures, rich chemical, electronic, magnetic and mechanical properties can emerge from interfacial chemistry and structure. The possibility to dynamically control interface characteristics with an electric field paves the way towards voltage control of these properties in solid-state devices. Here, we show that electrical switching of the interfacial oxidation state allo...
متن کاملVoltage control of magnetism in multiferroic heterostructures.
Electrical tuning of magnetism is of great fundamental and technical importance for fast, compact and ultra-low power electronic devices. Multiferroics, simultaneously exhibiting ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism, have attracted much interest owing to the capability of controlling magnetism by an electric field through magnetoelectric (ME) coupling. In particular, strong strain-mediated ME in...

Electric field control of magnetism provides a promising route towards ultralow power information storage and sensor technologies. The effects of magneto-ionic motion have been prominently featured in the modification of interface characteristics. Here, we demonstrate magnetoelectric coupling moderated by voltage-driven oxygen migration beyond the interface in relatively thick AlOx/GdOx/Co(15 n...
متن کاملAdaptive Voltage-based Control of Direct-drive Robots Driven by Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors
Tracking control of the direct-drive robot manipulators in high-speed is a challenging problem. The Coriolis and centrifugal torques become dominant in the high-speed motion control. The dynamical model of the robotic system including the robot manipulator and actuators is highly nonlinear, heavily coupled, uncertain and computationally extensive in non-companion form. In order to overcome thes...

Torque control strategy is a common strategy to control robotic manipulators. However, it becomes complex duo to manipulator dynamics. In addition, position control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) is a complicated control. Therefore, tracking control of robots driven by PMSMs is a challenging problem. This article presents a novel tracking control of electrically driven robots wh...
